Role Description

Site Quality Control Manager required for an ongoing contract role, working on behalf of our client, a major oil & gas/energy sector engineering company, working on a Decommissioning and Carbon Capture & Storage project, based on site in North Wales.

We are looking for candidates with at least 8-10 years as QC manager of a team in an Oil & Gas facility project context.  As Site Quality Control Manager, you will manage a team of 10 resources (supervisors and inspectors), and ensure the quality control activities have correctly been conducted.

The Role:

  • Supervise the project Quality Control activities and your team of supervisors (welding, painting, mechanical, etc.)
  • Act as focal point for quality control related matters within the project and in liaison with external entities
  • Support the Project Quality Manager in defining the Project Quality Control System and in identifying needed project QC plans and QC procedures in accordance with the Company Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Allocate QC Supervisor functions to the various areas of the project, ensuring relevant coordination onsite
  • Verify that internal/subcontracted tests, controls, inspections are carried out and documented in accordance with site Quality Control Plans, mechanical completion included
  • Ensure application of the PQMS and site preparation/distribution of the project QC plans/procedures in accordance with the Company QMS
  • Ensure the documentation has been correctly registered to complete the project
  • Collect project QC data to be provided to the Project Quality Manager, and for the Project Quality Management Review preparation

Skills/experience required:

  • 10 years in a managing role with QC activities within the offshore Oil & Gas industry in a project facility environment
  • Engineering degree

Technical skills:

  • Welding knowledge, Oil&Gas facilities and pipelines

Certificates:

  • Welding Inspector (desirable but not essential)

Job Details:

Full time contract role, outside of IR35.

Working hours: 5.5 days per week

Start date: ASAP

Rate: c.£600 per day

Location: North Wales
