Role Description
We are looking for an Industrial Relations Advisor for a long term contract role, to work on site on behalf of our client, a major engineering contractor operating within the energy sector. Your role will be to support the smooth implementation of local agreements with various unions involved with the project scope on a large onshore carbon capture project based in North Wales.
The Role:
- Ensure the development of transparent, profitable and positive relations with local, national and international trade unions and employers' organizations
- Ensure the dissemination of a culture of relationships and respect for human rights
- Ensure good relations with trade unions, in compliance with company procedures
- Ensure good relations with the relevant employers' organisations
- Ensure specialist technical support to company departments for the correct and effective management of trade union relations at peripheral sites, subsidiaries and affiliates
- Define the criteria for signing collective agreements covering the various matters within remit, in compliance with company policies, values and business needs
- Ensure support to HR and Line departments for the correct interpretation and application of collective agreements
- Ensure support to Sustainability departments for matters within remit
- Monitor the diffusion of trade union organisations and their memberships
- Contribute to the achievement of a positive workplace atmosphere, including by spreading the knowledge of welfare benefit opportunities
- Contribute to the collection of useful data for the drafting of the Sustainability Report.
- Ensure the promotion of and respect for human rights
- Ensure a cross-functional approach which takes Client's global presence into account
- Ensure the management of trade union activities in the event of mergers and acquisitions.
- Ensure the necessary coordination with the external communications functions in the event of occurrences that could find their way into the media
- Ensure management of the overall Project’s Industrial Relations in compliance with applicable legislation, Industrial Instruments (NAECI), relevant labour practices;
- Contribute to the definition and negotiation of relevant Industrial instruments (NAECI/Supplementary Project Agreement) and management of employees’ relations at project level;
- Ensure coordination among Subcontractors for what concern Trade Union requirements and deliverables.
Requirements:
- Master's/Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations.
- Experience in definition and negotiation of relevant Industrial instruments (NAECI/Supplementary Project Agreement) and management of employees’ relations at project level;
