Role Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Project Quality Manager to join our client, a major energy and engineering contractor for a long term contract role, based in SW London.
Candidates should have at least 7 years experience working as a Quality Engineer, Project Quality Engineer, Project Quality Manager or similar, within an offshore construction project environment.
The Project Quality Manager will be responsible for planning, implementing and overseeing the Project Quality Management System (PQMS) and ensuring that all Project Quality Control (QC) activities are effectively planned and implemented throughout the project.
Working closely with the Project Director/Project Manager and QHSE Manager, you will act as the focal point for all project quality matters, supporting the project team, clients, authorities, vendors and subcontractors to ensure contractual and quality requirements are consistently achieved.
Duties to include:
* Ensure the identification, preparation and distribution of Project Quality Plans, procedures and related documentation in accordance with the Company Quality Management System.
* Plan and coordinate quality audits to verify the effective implementation of the Project Quality Management System.
* Conduct external audits of vendors and subcontractors to assess compliance with applicable quality requirements and management systems.
* Participate in Project Management meetings, ensuring effective coordination between project management and quality activities.
* Ensure contractual quality requirements are effectively communicated, understood and implemented throughout the project organisation.
* Support the Project Manager in dealings with the Client and relevant Authorities on quality-related matters.
* Provide quality oversight of subcontractors and organisations responsible for project works.
* Manage and monitor site non-conformities, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are identified, implemented and closed out.
* Identify potential quality issues and promote preventative actions to minimise non-conformities and their root causes.
* Provide quality leadership and guidance to the wider project team to support a strong quality culture and continuous improvement.
Qualifications required:
* Degree in Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
* ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification is essential.
Experience:
* Minimum of 7 years' experience working as a Quality Engineer, Project Quality Engineer, Project Quality Manager or similar.
* Proven experience within an offshore construction project environment.
* Experience working with vendors, subcontractors and other external organisations.
* Experience managing project quality activities from planning through to implementation and close-out.
Technical Skills:
* Quality management systems and ISO 9001.
* Quality auditing.
* Subcontractor and vendor quality management.
* Non-conformance management and corrective/preventive actions.
* Material storage, handling and preservation.
* Project Quality Plans and procedures.
Job Details:
Location: SW London. Office based 3 days per week, 2 days remote
Rate: 600-650 per day (role expected to fall outside of IR35)
Duration: Long term contract
Start date: September 2026
