Role Description

 

We are urgently seeking an experienced Project HSE Manager to join a major engineering project based in Kingston.

This is a senior project HSE position with responsibility for leading the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the Project HSE Management System throughout the engineering and development phases of the project.

You will act as the key HSE focal point for the project, providing advice and support to Project Management while leading and coordinating HSE activities across engineering, site and subcontractor teams.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and manage the Project HSE Management System throughout the project

* Act as the project HSE focal point and provide HSE advice to Project Management

* Develop and coordinate the project HSE team

* Interface with the Client on HSE matters and manage contractual HSE requirements

* Ensure compliance with UK HSE legislation, CDM Regulations, IOGP and relevant ISO standards

* Lead accident and incident investigations

* Establish and implement HSE monitoring and audit programmes

* Lead risk management activities including HAZOP, HAZID, risk assessments and Hazard & Effect Management

* Manage HSE requirements relating to subcontractors

* Support the environmental management team

* Coordinate Project HSE Reviews and ensure effective project close-out

Experience: 

  • 10+ years' experience within HSE, including at least 3 years at HSE Manager level, ideally gained within engineering, oil & gas, offshore, energy or another major project environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and CDM Regulations, together with experience working to IOGP standards and guidelines.
  • Experience leading HAZOP, HAZID, risk assessment and other project risk management activities is important.
  • A NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Tech IOSH or above and ISO 45001 Lead Auditor qualifications would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are also essential, as the role involves working closely with Project Management, Clients, contractors and other project stakeholders.

Contract Details

Rate: Up to £750 per day

Location: SW London.  3 days office based/2 days remote. 

IR35: Outside IR35

Contract: Full-time Contractor

Start: ASAP
