Mechanical Draftsman

We are looking to recruit a Mechanical Draftsman/Design Engineer to work on behalf of our client, a global design and engineering contractor working in the oil & gas sector, at their offices in Swindon.

Responsibilities:

• Produce drawings for parts of equipment including generators and distribution equipment
• Lead and contribute to the mechanical design of systems and supporting structures
• Provide engineering support through prototype build, testing, and qualification phases, resolving design issues and implementing corrective actions.
• Conduct design reviews and configuration management activities in collaboration with Maintenance and Mechanical Engineering teams

Experience and Qualifications:

• Over 5 years’ experience within design engineering, having completed projects of generators and distribution equipment
• Proficient in AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS
• Familiarity with MOD standards and Defence Standards relevant to mechanical and power systems.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes for military grade equipment

Security Clearance:

• Must hold or be eligible to obtain entry level security checks (BPSS)

Job Details:

Contract role - duration c. 6 months

Rate: £35 p/h (Ltd co), role expected to be Outside of IR35

Working hours: 40 hrs per week

Location: Swindon

Start date: ASAP
