Role Description
Our client is currently seeking an experienced Lead Technical Safety & Environmental Engineer to support a major oil & gas project during a 12-month FEED programme.
The project involves the development and enhancement of significant oil & gas production, processing and associated infrastructure as part of a major international energy programme.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Technical Safety professional to take a lead role within a major project environment and contribute to the successful delivery of a complex FEED programme.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead Technical Safety and Environmental engineering activities throughout the FEED phase.
* Provide technical leadership and guidance on Technical Safety and Environmental matters.
* Support the development, review and delivery of Technical Safety and Environmental engineering deliverables.
* Ensure safety and environmental considerations are appropriately incorporated into engineering design and project decision-making.
* Liaise with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project management and other stakeholders.
* Review technical documentation and provide technical input and recommendations.
* Ensure activities are undertaken in accordance with relevant legislation, industry standards, project specifications and engineering practices.
* Identify potential safety and environmental risks and support the development of appropriate mitigation measures.
* Participate in technical reviews, studies, workshops and assurance activities.
* Provide technical support and leadership to the wider project team as required.
The successful candidate will have significant experience in Technical Safety, Process Safety and/or Environmental Engineering, ideally gained within the oil & gas or wider energy sector.
You will be able to demonstrate:
* Proven experience working in a Lead Technical Safety / Environmental Engineering capacity.
* Extensive experience working on major oil & gas projects.
* Strong FEED project experience.
* A sound understanding of Technical Safety, Process Safety and Environmental Engineering principles and practices.
* Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
* Strong technical communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Experience of working on large-scale international oil & gas projects.
* Previous experience working on major operator-led projects would be advantageous, but is not essential.
Contract Details:
* £75 per hour
* Outside IR35, subject to assessment
* 12-month contract
* 40 hours per week
* Surrey - 4 days per week in the office/1 day remote working
