Role Description
We are now recruiting for a Buyer for a long term contract role, working on behalf of our client, a leading renewable energy contractor, based on site in North Wales.
Candidates should have a minimum of 4-5 years experience working on oil & gas and/or energy projects.
As Buyer, you will report to the Site manager on a daily basis, working on our client's Dcommissioning & Carbon Capture and Storage project. You will be the focal point for all the buying activities of the project onsite (direct&indirect, goods&services).
Responsibilities to include:
- Manage in autonomy the Purchase Requisitions received from the section lead for any goods and services
- Review the PR to ensure they are complete and consistent with the budget and technical needs of the project
- Prepare a tender strategy with proper documents to explain our procurement process to vendors with the relevant timelines and qualification information
- Liaise with bidders, inspectors, vendors and head office on a daily basis to ensure all the parties understood the needs and requests
- Support the vendors during the preparation of the technical/commercial proposals with obligation of confidentiality
- Compare different proposals from vendors and suggest actions to be taken in order to improve project results
Skills/experience required:
Experience: Proven experience as Buyer or equivalent for both goods and services in the Oil&Gas or Energy industries
Technical skills: Goods and services purchasing strategy
IT skills: SAP, MS365
Job Details:
Start date: January 2027
Location: Initially 1 month training based at our client's offices in London until Feb.2026, followed by 18-24 months site based in North Wales.
Working hours: 5 - 5.5 days per week
Rate: Please contact us for further details. Role expected to fall outside of IR35 subject to a pre-contract status assessment.
