Role Description

Material Quality Control Inspector required for long term contract role, working on behalf of our client, a global design and engineering contractor, based on site in North Wales.  The successful candidate will join the existing team working on our client's decommissioning & carbon capture and storage project, and the assignment is expected to last 12+ months.

A minimum of 5 years experience working in materials control on either energy or oil & gas projects is essential for this position. 

Job Description:  Reporting to the Quality Control manager, you will be required to execute the specific inspections on material, instrumentation and equipment received onsite in accordance with the QC Plan and project needs.

Duties to include:

  • Execute the inspection and QC activities on all incoming materials and equipment collecting the relevant records to ensure they are correctly received, stored, preserved and handled
  • Analyse the Purchase Order and Project Specifications (visual and dimensional control) to verify that the supply is accurate with the needs
  • Carry out the visual checks on the materials delivered to the operating site, verifying the integrity of the supply and the correct marking of the items
  • Prepare MRR /MIR and liaise with the client to let them know about the received material
  • Ensure that management of inspections, material certifications and quality records during construction and erection work are executed in accordance with the Codes and Standards, and Subsidiaries procedures, QC Plans/Inspection Test Plans.
  • Orderly collect and manage/check documents certifying test, controls and inspection documents, ensuring that all material and testing related records are properly retrievable within the final As- Built dossier
  • Issue the relevant Inspection Material Reports and/or Receiving Inspection Reports, Non-Conformity Reports
  • In Case of subcontractor activities, ensure the correct implementation of the approved Quality Control Plans/ Inspection
  • Test Plans, witnessing material inspection and collecting relevant Quality Control record

Skills/experience required:

Experience: 5 years with material control activities on a construction site for the Oil & Gas industry

Education: Relevant degree or diploma

Technical skills: QC for structural/mechanical/civil/electrical equipment and items ; International certifications;

IT skills: MS365, Excel

Job Details:

Contractor role, full time, up to 5,5 days/week when needed - expected to fall outside IR35
