Role Description

Experienced Environmental Engineer required for a part time role, working on behalf of our client, a global oil & gas design and engineering consultant based in Surrey. here in Leatherhead – Part time – 3 days per week. 

The successful candidate will be required to support the Environmental & Social Impact Assessment and other environmental design and engineering work for an onshore energy security / traditional energies facility expansion.  You must have at least 5 years post graduate experience working on oil & gas design projects, and experience working on Aramco projects would be desirable.

Roles and Responsibilities

As part of a project team, perform all conventional aspects of Environmental scope area.  This may include:

•Developing environmental deliverables such as Environmental Philosophies, Environmental Impact Identification (ENVID) Reports, Environmental Management Plans, Emissions Inventories, Terms of Reference (ToRs) for workshops and Scopes of Work (SoW) for studies.

•Supporting studies focused on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and ensuring alignment with net-zero commitments.

•Providing expert guidance on environmental compliance, including Best Available Techniques (BAT), and ensuring regulatory adherence throughout project lifecycles.

•Coordination and liaison with third-party contractors undertaking environmental studies, such as Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) and site baseline surveys.

•Environmental representation in ENVID and BAT reviews.

•Managing environmental aspects of projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to achieve environmental objectives.

Skills and experience required:

•Skills gained through undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including final year design projects and any work placements

•Experience working on oil and gas design projects. Experiences in Wastewater Treatment and Energy transition projects (such as CCSU) and are desirable.

•Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to create reports, analyze data, and present information effectively. Experience with GIS and air dispersion modelling software is desirable.

•Minimum of 5 years related experience, with average experience ranging from 6-10 years.

Educational/qualifications required:

•Bachelor’s degree (BEng or BSc) in Environmental Engineering or a related field such as Chemical Engineering.

•Membership in a relevant engineering, science, or environmental institute.

Rate: c. £52-55 p/h (Ltd rate)

Duration: 6 Months

Working hours: 3 days per week - 100% office based only.
