Role Description

Experienced Subcontract Manager required for a permanent staff role working for a global oil & gas engineering company based in NE England.

The successful candidate will be joining their existing construction team working on a large tank/container project.  The project site is located in the North East and will last for around three years.

Candidates must have a minimum of 8 years previous experience in a similar role. 

Job Description: 

  • Lead the Subcontract Engineers/Administrators team
  • Ensure the procedure of Subcontract Administration is implemented and followed by Subcontractors 
  • Initiate letters and notices to Subcontractors as needed and ensure that the letters and notices from the Subcontractors are appropriately replied to 
  • Monitor Subcontractor’s performance 
  • Review and validate the progress payment submitted by Subcontractors 
  • Provide to project management team support in the identification of any variations and or claims with implications on project program and forecasts, if any (i.e. delays/costs) 
  • Analyse the issued Site Technical Queries, Site Instructions, Deviation Requests to both determine the relevant cost impact and lead the negotiation with Subcontractors for alignment on the price 
  • Ensure that extra works, new unit prices, claims, back charges, liquidated damages and close out of the Subcontracts are performed / processed in accordance with the relevant procedure 
  • Participate actively in change management and forecast analysis 
  • Ensure the issuance of Completion Certificates 
  • Ensure the regular updates of the Subcontracts Forecasts analysis 
  • Manage commercial close out of Subcontract Agreements. 
  • Ensure collection and sharing of lessons learned, feedbacks and returns of experience on issues/criticalities construction.
