Role Description
We are recruiting for a Welding QC Inspector for a contract role, to work on site on behalf of our client, a major engineering contractor operating within the energy sector.
As Welding QC Inspector, you will report to the Quality Control Coordinator. You will carry out the field welding inspections and ensure that all welding operations are executed in accordance with all relevant Standards and QC procedures.
The Role:
- Execute inspections on materials, equipment and construction/installation activities on site
- Follow relevant specified procedures, issue the relevant Quality Records and write non-conformances reports for the Quality Control Supervisor
- Verify welding parameters and consumables during operations, the availability of welding procedures (WPS/PQR) and welders’ qualifications
- Check the availability and suitability of the welding equipment consumables, pre-heating, welding, heat treatment, bevels, the extent of the repairs made by the various welders (taking any corrective action required), the heat treatment record diagrams
- Collect and manage documents certifying test, controls and inspection documents
- Ensure that all civil works and testing related records are properly retrievable within the final As- Built dossier
- In case of subcontractor activities, ensure the correct implementation of the approved QC/ Inspection Test Plans, witnessing inspection and collecting relevant Quality Control records
- Ensure the conformity with the Quality Control Plan and obtain the relevant documentation
Requirements:
- 5 years' experience as Welding QC Inspector in the Oil & Gas industry or similar
- CSWIP 3.1 or AWS or equivalent Certification
- IT skills: MS365
