Role Description

We are now recruiting for a Senior Designer (Instrument & Telecom) for a c.6 month+ contract role working for an international oil & gas design and engineering contractor on an LNG FEED Project, to be based full time at their UK head office in Surrey.

The role will include preparation of Instrumentation and Telecommunication engineering deliverables like Block diagrams, Instrument Index, location layouts, hookups, installation drawings, cables schedules, cable routing layouts, Material Takeoff, Bill Of Material, Control Room and Rack Room Layouts etc.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Department Manager and Lead Engineer or Lead Designer
  • Proficiency in 2D drafting software packages.
  • Experience with Smart Plant Instrument Database application.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications like Excel, Word, Access etc.
  • Interface with other engineering discipline like Electrical, Piping etc for instrumentation and Telecom inputs
  • Responsibility for the technical and commercial quality of the work executed within the group and for the supervision of the Draft Persons, Designer(s) reporting to him/her.
  • Supporting Lead Engineer on internal as well as external changes.
  • Compliance with company and project standards, procedures and specifications, 
  • Experience of co-ordination with high value Engineering Centre
  • 3D modelling experience and experience in extract drawings from 3D Model will be an advantage 

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • HND/HNC or Equivalent
  • At least 10 years of experience in design drafting and design 
  • Must have Middle East Oil and Gas projects experience

Duration: c.6 months +

Rate: £42 p/h.  Role expected to fall outside of IR35 but is subject to a pre-contract determination assessment

Location: Surrey

Working hours: 40 hrs p/w (5 days full time office based)
