Buyer

Experienced Buyer required for long term contract role, working for a global oil & gas engineering contractor, based in Surrey.

Candidates must be degree level qualified, and have a minimum of 5 years experience as a Buyer working on oil & gas sector projects.

Job Description:

• Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers for the procurement of goods, services and supplies.
• Takes responsibility for purchases in support of customer-related business processes or for internal use.
• Discusses defects and delivery problems with suppliers, and is responsible for negotiating refunds.
• Coordinates with operations, maintenance, warehouse and engineering to ensure proper scheduling and movement of goods and supplies.  
• Under general supervision, solves complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices.
• Uses experience and problem solving skills to develop and improve processes.
• May provide guidance to less experienced team members.

Job Details:

Contract role - expected to fall outside of IR35 but will be subject to a pre-contract assessement

Rate: c.£55 p/h (Limited Company)

Duration: c. 12 months

Location: Surrey - hybrid working may be possible with 2 days per week remote.

Working hours: 40 hrs per week - Monday - Friday.

Start date: ASAP
