Role Description
Principal Engineer with extensive experience in offshore wind turbine generators required for ongoing contract role, working on behalf of our client, a leading renewable energy design and engineering contractor. We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 10 years experience in the design of offshore wind projects.
As Principal Engineer you will report to the Floating ILA Engineering Manager within the Offshore Wind business line. You will be responsible for all activities related to turbine design and interface with turbine OEM in offshore wind.
Duties to include:
- Building and verification of aeroelastic model of the turbine
- Manage the turbine controller tuning and development
- Perform all required checks of the turbine and controller
- Support the turbine tower design
- Monitor, support and verify the ILA
- Laise with external contractors related to the turbine model and controller
- Participate in the technical meetings with clients
- Provide a support to the Offshore Wind business unit activities, in terms of advanced and non-conventional structural analyses and numerical simulations
- Write comprehensive and top quality industry standard technical reports
Skills/experience required:
- Education: Chartered Engineer (Engineering Degree - Aeronautical degree preferred)
- Experience: 10-15 years in design for offshore wind covering both floating and fixed wind substructures
- Technical skills: codes and standards, including DNV and IEC, turbine design, WTG
- IT skills: engineering software (OrcaFlex, Bladed, Fast) and MS365
Job Details:
Location: SW London. Full time role - minimum of 3 days per week office based.

Rate: c. £65-70 p/h
