Assistant Project Manager required for permanent staff or long term contract role within offshore oil & gas contracting company based in Aberdeen.
Main function will be to plan, co-ordinate and control the execution of allocated projects; ensure completion in accordance with client requirements and objectives, within time and cost constraints; achieve profit objectives ensuring the observance of HSE and Quality procedures and practices.
Responsibilities: • Supervision of all personnel seconded to him/her, as required by the Project Manager. • Direct liaison with Managers/Supervisors in charge of project services (Procurement / Draughting / Assets / Human Resources), as delegated by the Project Manager. • Assist the Project Manager as necessary to specify the scope of work and budgets for project activities, assets and 3rd Party activities. • To be conversant with all items and conditions of the project both technically and commercially and to have a full understanding of the scope of work. • Responsible for the control and monitoring of overall safety and quality assurance in all project related activities as laid down in the Company’s Integrated Management System as delegates by the Project Manager. • Responsible for supporting the Project Manager in the preparation and maintenance of budgets for the project, assisted by the Cost Controller and ensuring the utilisation of the Company’s format, (Quality Plans, Project Execution Plans, Cost Time Resource, etc), detailing costs and sales revenues. • Ensure the Cost Controller is provided with timely adequate financial information to enable correct and accurate preparation of the accounts and invoices for all activities as delegated by the Project Manager. • In conjunction with the Project Manager ensure that project meetings are held with all relevant personnel during the project and record same on Minutes of Meeting. • Liaise with Clients and ensure that project meetings are held with all relevant personnel during the project and record same on Minutes of Meeting, as required by the Project Manager. • In conjunction with the Project Manager establish all the resources from the company’s departments needed to carry out the project. • Implement and organise any approved modifications to the Operations Department System, ensuring all changes are fully documented and included in the Integrated Management System. • Encourage any technical developments or suggestions that will enhance the overall Project Engineering or Operational efficiency. • Ensure that all aspects of Project Administration, Engineering and Operations fulfil the Contract requirements and are conducted in a safe,, efficient and profitable manner. • Conduct all activities within the company's Integrated Management System Policy, Procedures and Work Instructions.
Qualifications & Experience: • University, College or Industry education and / or training in a suitable offshore discipline (i.e. Engineering, Surveying or ROV support). • Previous experience with relevant Offshore/Subsea Engineering background in a Project Management, Lead Role or Project Superintendent position (essential) • Be conversant with the requirement of ISO 9001 Quality Standard. • Computer literate.
