Structural Engineer

Experienced Structural Engineer required for long term contract role within offshore oil & gas contractors based in Surrey.

Candidates must have experience in the design of barge grillage and sea fastenings, rigging design and misc steelwork design.

Responsibilities:

•    Perform general structural engineering activities on a project.
•    Production of specialist calculations for local analyses with FEM.
•    Input to and verification of structural drawings for steel structures and civil structures.
•    Preparation and checking of specifications and calculation reports in accordance with Company Standards.
•    Keep abreast of the technical developments in his area of technology and with associated national and international standards.
•    Interface with other disciplines for the definition and management of engineering activities particularly related to structural design.
•    Provide structural engineering support to commercial and procurement activities during preparation of proposals.
•    Perform additional duties within own experience and capabilities as advised by superiors.
•    To become familiar with and to maintain awareness of the client's current requirements and where applicable, the latest Industry Codes and Standards including statutory rules and regulations.
•    To ensure that all activities are carried out in manner consistent with company policy on health, safety, quality and environmental matters in accordance with Saipem specific procedures.
•    To ensure his / her own safety and that of others is not compromised or placed at risk.

Qualifications & Experience:

•    Degree qualified Engineer with some years experience in offshore structural engineering related to oil and natural gas facilities.  This experience will generally have been gained with qualified engineering companies.
•    Have a working knowledge of major calculation programs used in the design of offshore structures and modules, particularly SACS and Ansys.
