Experienced Naval Analysis Engineers required for long term contract or permanent staff positions to work on various offshore construction projects for our client, a major international offshore oil & gas engineering contractor based in South West London.
Responsibilities:
- Naval architectural activities related to marine operations with the aim of verifying the feasibility and safety of installation operations.
- Analytical calculations and computer simulations to assist with the achievement of the above objectives.
- Verification of conformity of design against industry accepted practices and international rules, regulations and legislation.
- Confirmation of the positioning, stability and structural strength of the installation and transportation vessels for conducting the intended operations.
- Studies of marine operations such as loadout, transportation, launch, mooring, dynamic positioning, lifting upending, docking, set-down and removal.
- Optimisation of the sequences of operations performed by the vessels involved to enhance operability and to minimise the duration and risk of the operation.
- Model testing of offshore installation operations, ranging from the preparation of the correct technical specifications to supervision of the tests and subsequent analysis and interpretation of results.
- Review and approve installation engineering design criteria and other relevant project technical documents.
- Preparation of reports detailing the results of calculations and studies.
- Checking of reports and calculations produced by other naval architects or external organisations.
Qualifications & Experience required:
Ideally, we are looking for a degree qualified Chartered Engineer with a minimum of 5-8+ years analytical experience in Naval Architecture related to transportation and installation of offshore structures. This experience will generally have been gained with qualified engineering companies within the oil & gas offshore industry.
Candidates must have a thorough knowledge of major calculation programs used in transportation and installation of offshore structures. (Orcaflex & MOSES advantageous)
