        <description> Riser Engineer urgently required for long term contract based in Surrey.
Job Description:
To work within offshore/subsea engineering projects &#38;nbsp;and provide analytical and design services for ideally fixed, flexible and steel catenary risers containing multiphase flow, oil, gas and water injection fluids. &#38;nbsp;Also to act as the Technical Authority across company&#38;rsquo;s projects on the design of marine risers installed on fixed platforms, through J-tubes and on floating production and storage vessels. To prepare and run Finite Element analysis programs for static and dynamic analysis of fixed and flexible risers. Including, the analysis, design and installation of umbilical&#38;rsquo;s, fibre optic cables and electrical cables on fixed and floating structures in J-tubes or free water.
The role is within an established and expanding group with excellent opportunities for future progression into other technical areas, project and commercial management. The successful applicant will be a key member of the team.
&#38;nbsp;
Qualifications:

Good First Degree in Structural, Mechanical, Aeronautical or Civil Engineering
Second Degree, MSc. preferable
C Eng. via an applicable Institute.

&#38;nbsp;
Experience:

Good general knowledge of risers preferably including much of the following:
10years experience of rigid and flexible riser analysis and design on North Sea platforms and in deep water areas.&#38;nbsp;
Comprehensive knowledge of applicable design codes, DNV, ASME, ISO, etc.
Good overall experience of North Sea subsea developments layout, riser interfaces, seabed pipelines and structures.&#38;nbsp;
Experience with connections to PLETS, PLEM&#38;rsquo;s, manifolds and flexible riser configurations to floating storage vessels.
Experience of conceptual, feasibility, pre-FEED and FEED activities and production of, philosophies, design reports, isometrics, GA&#38;rsquo;s and detail design drawings and specifications/data sheets.
Working with platform structural engineers for incorporation of jacket deflections into the riser design including riser span analysis/riser guide positioning and riser vortex shedding analysis.
Knowledge of flexible riser and umbilical terminations and jacket hang-off structures.
Experience of interfacing with pipeline design engineers for loads imposed from the pipelines and expansion spools.
Ability to work with and coordinate design effort with other project disciplines and third party consultants.
Extensive experience in conducting FE analysis for fixed, flexible and steel catenary risers, analysis and structural specification with such programmes as ABAQUS, ANSYS, AutoPipe, Caesar II, etc .
Stress analysis including fatigue analysis, J-tube pull-in analysis for pipelines, umbilical&#38;rsquo;s and cables (fibre optic and electrical power)
Experience of conducting flexible riser dynamic analysis with typical software such as Orcaflex, FlexCom 3D, etc
Knowledge of structural steel programmes such as SACS, STAAD Pro, etc.&#38;nbsp;
Experience in the interpretation of MetOcean data and the application of wave theories from the data for generation of riser hydrodynamics loads in various return storm and steady state current conditions.
Knowledge of multiphase flow, oil, gas and water injection pipeline flow analysis.
Experience of subsea installation activities with offshore construction vessels, ROV&#38;rsquo;s and diver intervention activities.
Fabrication yard and offshore riser installation experience an advantage.

Working in close collaboration with all members of the PSCM Logistics Team to ensure a consistent approach to all dealings with the Freight Management Contractor(s) and interfacing with the other Project teams and disciplines including those responsible for implementing BP&#38;rsquo;s global agreements with key suppliers.
Overseeing the implementation by Freight Management Contractor(s) of the Project&#38;rsquo;s HSSE requirements for transport and handling operations when planning and organising deliveries.
Have a good understanding of the logistics requirements documents as issued to Suppliers and assist PSCM and the Freight Management Contractor(s) with Suppliers&#38;rsquo; compliance with these.&#38;nbsp;

Duties and Responsibilities:

Liaising with procurement personnel to ensure that when new service orders are placed the supplier is provided with the necessary documentation, thereby ensuring documentation is submitted to the EPMS Contractor in the correct format.
Interfacing with the EPMS Contractors Information Management personnel to ensure information flows between BP and the EPMS Contractor continue to work as efficiently as possible and when the need arises discuss new processes with the EPMS Contractor and implement as appropriate
Ensuring that all BP originated documents have been registered in the document management module of iHub (Sharepoint) using the document number request tool.. This includes:
Checking that all the required metadata is present and appropriate for use
Assisting with issuing a document number if the author is not able to request the document number using iHub
Notifying the author of any discrepancies or issues associated to the document being registered that need to be corrected before the document can be registered
Approving the requested document number once all the checks have been completed
Managing and distributing all BP originated documents that have been registered in iHub. This includes:
Checking the document for consistency with the appropriate document templates
Checking and modifying, if necessary, the distribution requirements of the registered document against those identified in the document issue e-mail notification received from the author
Notifying the author of any discrepancies or issues associated to a document that need to be corrected before the document can be issued
Uploading the checked document into the document centre and submitting the transmittal to everyone on the distribution list
Focal point for BP iHub users based in UK and Azerbaijan
Provide direction, support and guidance to iHub document controllers
Hold regular meetings with BP iHub Document Controllers located in the other EPMS Contractor offices
Periodically audit the information / documentation held in the document management module of iHub (Sharepoint) to ensure it is current and correct.&#38;nbsp;
Modifying the iHub endorsement matrix with information provided by the BP PIM Lead and submitting the new details to the iHub administrator for implementation.

BACKGROUND
The Site Commissioning Coordination Team has been established to provide the lead in all issues relating to the coordination of the overall Plant start-up planning, preparation and execution. &#38;nbsp;It has developed and owns the Site Commissioning and Start-Up Plan (SICP). &#38;nbsp;This Team will report through the Utilities, Power and Infrastructure (UPI) Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning and Start-Up Leader but will interface with all other Envelope/Unit Project and Manufacturing Teams.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The role of the Commissioning and Start-Up Specialist is to be a key member of the Coordination Team and directly contribute to the successful start-up of the entire SADARA Project. &#38;nbsp;In this respect the position will be involved in and be a contributor in the following areas.

Preparation and development of SICP deliverables in line with the approved Plant Start-Up Sequence. &#38;nbsp;These include;
Preparing Inter Area System (IAS) drawings in Visio.
Preparing scheduling workflow drawings for each IAS.
Preparing IAS Commissioning Procedures.
Working closely with the Team Scheduler in all aspects of building the Integrated Commissioning &#38;amp; Start-Up schedule for the Site.
Liaising and coordination with Owner Unit Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning and Start-Up Leaders and their Team members in all aspects of the SICP.
Liaising and coordination with Unit Project Teams and hence through to CONTRACTORS in all aspects of the SICP.
Liaising and coordination with System Leads and Process Engineers.

Initially based in the Design Office in Hampshire, the selected candidate maybe required to travel to various other design offices and will then be be expected to mobilize for an extensive period to the site office in Jubail, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
At least 7 years experience of working in the petrochemical industry preferably with exposure to the construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up phases of work. &#38;nbsp;In addition, experience should include periods of work in the Design Office in the planning and preparation of pre-commissioning and commissioning execution strategies, schedules and procedures. &#38;nbsp;Commissioning experience in other sectors such as oil &#38;amp; gas, power, nuclear etc. will be considered.
Knowledge:

Demonstrable strong up-to-date knowledge of pre-commissioning and commissioning methods and procedures, as well as acceptance and completion activities.
Have a strong understanding of the issues around the interfaces between process units and utilities distribution and isolation (Battery Limit) methods.
Fully appreciate the safety issues and safe working practices in the transition between the different phases of site execution.
Have an understanding of multi-discipline work and the relationships and dependencies between, process, utilities, infrastructure, electrical and control systems etc.

Skills:

The candidate must be comfortable working in both the design office and on site and will be IT capable. &#38;nbsp;In this respect the candidate will be able to create and manage spreadsheets and work with databases as well as develop simple schematics and flow diagrams in Visio.
The ability and communication skills to develop and lead subject presentations to varying levels of OWNER and CONTRACTOR Management in order to publicise concepts and strategies.
Able to develop, evaluate and challenge plans and schedules.
Strong OWNER focus and team working skills, it will be necessary to interface with and manage differences between multiple OWNER and CONTRACTOR groups.

Education and Qualifications:

        <description> Senior Surveyor required for ongoing contract role working within the Building Control department of a local authority based in South London.
Main Purpose of Role:
To work with the Building Control Manager to develop an efficient and effective Building Control service, and deputise in rotation for the Building Control Manager as agreed.
Lead and co-ordinate one of the multi-disciplinary area technical teams comprised of professional, technical and technical support officers engaged in all aspects of building control work. &#38;nbsp;
Principal Accountabilities:
1.Manage and supervise a Building Control technical team and ensure that work complies with the Building Acts and Regulations and other associated legislation, all Standing Orders, the authority&#38;rsquo;s policies, departmental instructions and statutory requirements.
2.Contribute to the development and implementation of service delivery, marketing and quality initiatives, and promote the Authority&#38;rsquo;s Building Control Service during normal contacts with building professionals.
3.Ensure the efficient and effective response of the group to Land Charge Search enquiries, and the recovery of statutory and other fees due to the Authority.&#38;nbsp;
4.Work with, and report on matters relating to the activities of, other sections as required, including Development Management, Regulatory Services, Environmental Health and Local Land Charges.&#38;nbsp;
5.Provide high level advice to, and as required negotiate with the public, officers of the Authority, builders, architects, engineers, external consultants and other bodies on all aspects of building control.
6.Identify projects requiring assistance from the specialist technical staff and, in consultation with the Building Control Manager, take appropriate action.&#38;nbsp;
7.Undertake a personal case-load of Building Regulations submissions, including the site inspection and examination of compliance with relevant building control legislation, including the Building Act and Regulations, and the London Building Acts.
8.Assist in, and as appropriate lead on, the investigation of and response to allegations, complaints and queries from Councillors, MPs and others with a legitimate interest in the service. &#38;nbsp;
9.To provide effective leadership, ensuring development of productive working relationships, providing support and assistance to other team members where necessary.
10.To manage, supervise and appraise identified staff, including providing support, guidance and training, and make decisions on the recruitment and allocation of staff resources (including professional services consultants).&#38;nbsp;
Qualifications/Knowledge required:
Degree or HNC in building, building surveying, civil or structural engineering and significant relevant post qualification experience, or able to demonstrate a comparable level of knowledge and skills obtained through relevant experience
Appropriate professional membership of MRICS, MBEng, MICE, or MIStructE
Detailed knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Building Act 1984, the London Building Acts and Building Regulations
Detailed knowledge of all of the following areas:

Building construction, including reinforced concrete, structural steel/timber work
Structural engineering, including ability to check and comment on structural calculations.
Fire safety and means of escape in buildings, including appropriate standards and codes of practice.&#38;nbsp;
Supervision of building work on site

Principal Accountabilities

5. Appraise dangerous structures as requested by Senior Structural Engineer or Building Control Manager and advise on appropriate remedial action. Participate in any action required in the event of the Authority&#38;rsquo;s Civil Emergency Plan been activated, or when dealing with demanding Dangerous Structures cases. This may require working outside normal office hours
6. Work with and report on matters relating to the activities of other sections, as required, including Development Control, Regulatory Services, Environmental Health and Local Land Charges.&#38;nbsp;
7. Protect the Authority&#38;rsquo;s interests in all aspects of financial transactions with which the post holder is involved, and assist with the assessment and recovery of fees and charges.
